Chowder Challenge Winners Crowned
Second Annual Chowder Challenge Delivered Great Food
Billings, MT, (October 15, 2012) - ZooMontana's 2nd Annual Chowder Challenge presented by Exxon Mobil delivered great food and great crowds. An estimated crowd of 400 hungry patrons sampled nearly 20 different chowders from the regions best restaurants. Awards were given to both the People's Choice and the Judge's Choice. This year's celebrity judges presented Chef Eric Trager of The Carbon County Steak House in Red Lodge with the Judge's Award for his Steak and Blue Chowder, a rich and cheesy masterpiece. Judges marks included bonuses for customer service, booth presentation and chowder presentation. Each chowder attendee had the opportunity to vote for their top two chowders, leading to the People's Choice Award. This year's winner of the coveted Chowder Cup went to The Vig and Chef Mike Vaith for his Chicken Chipotle chowder. The Chowder Challenge is an annual event created by the Chefs and Cooks of Montana and will continue to be an annual event designed to raise money for ZooMontana's animal care and education programs.
