Gould Placed On IR 12/11/12

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Chicago Bears have placed K Robbie Gould (calf), CB Sherrick McManis (knee) and S Craig Steltz (chest) on reserve/injured today. The team signed K Olindo Mare to a one-year contract, LB Jerry Franklin to a two-year contract and elevated WR Joe Anderson from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Chicago also signed G Chris Riley to the practice squad and waived G/C Andre Gurode.

The 6-1, 245-pound Franklin entered the NFL this season as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos out of Arkansas. He has also seen time on the practice squads of Carolina and Dallas.

Mare has spent 15 NFL seasons with the Dolphins (1997-06), Saints (2007), Seahawks (2008-10) and Panthers (2011), connecting on 350 of 431 field goal attempts (81.2 percent) and 480 of 486 extra points for 1,530 points.
